Founded in 1955, West Deptford's police department has grown from a police chief and five officers to a force of 41 officers, including a K-9 unit, that serves and protects more than 20,000 residents. The department's mission is "to provide quality police service to our community by promoting a safe environment through police and citizen interaction, with an emphasis on integrity, fairness and professionalism." The current police chief is Craig Mangano.
The court, which is headed by municipal court Judge Guy Killen, handles criminal, traffic and local ordinance complaints on Tuesdays between 8:30am and 4:30pm in the municipal courtroom.
