The Washington Township Historical Society's pride and home base is the museum, built in 1858, that is located on Fairview Road across the street from the fire station. It aims to unite people that are interested in their town's history, as Long Valley does indeed have a lot to tell. The society is involved in preservation of its historic landmarks and land, for that matter, as well as programs, archives, publications, markers, and historical collections. The museum is certainly a site to see and one can help but imagine the ruins in their glory as teams are working to restore it to its initial grandeur.
