History
I ended a Public Relations career in corporate America in 1994, but still wanted to keep busy doing something I enjoyed. Always an avid animal lover, I began working part time for a local Veterinarian. After several months, one of the veterinary clients was having a hard time finding a kennel to board her dog, so I volunteered to look in on her dog while she was away. She was so pleased with the care I provided that she began spreading the word that I was available to pet sit. The response from the community was hard to ignore. Pet owners love their pets, and the veterinary clients who'd already come to know my own passion for animals were instant VAL'S PALS clients. It wasn't long before I had to give up my job at the Veterinary clinic and spend working hours visiting an ever-growing number of pets. By the year 2000 my husband, Arnie, quit his job to work the business with me. It's become a way of life, and we're happy to be spending it this way.
Specialties
VAL'S PALS is a family owned and operated pet care service that provides loving and dedicated attention to family pets. We make mid-day dog walking visits for families who are away for most of the day. We walk and play with them, and give them loving attention. If the visit is at a time when they eat, we feed them, and we always make sure their water bowl is fresh and full. We also make multiple visits a day for vacationers, business travelers, or for anything that keeps a family away for days at a time. We care for kitties too, making sure they have fresh food and water and that their litter boxes are kept clean every day. Playtime purrs are always encouraged. Our service isn't limited to dogs and cats. We also care for birds, fish, reptiles, guinea pigs, ferrets, gerbils and other exotics. Val is a former veterinary technician and can administer medications, including insulin injections and sub-q fluids. We're passionate about our PALS. We regard all of them as extensions of our own pet family, and that means doing everything we can to make them feel loved and secure when their family isn't there.
