The Trinity United Church was formed in 1968, after members of the United Presbyterian Church and the United Church of Christ merged to form a joint ministry. The church's precepts call on members to share "the love that Christ shares with us to people of every color, age, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, circumstance and ability," and to be good stewards of the environment, and of our minds and bodies, according to the church mission statement.
The new congregation refurbished the King George Road church in 1979.
Church members are active in ministry projects outside of the church, including commitments tothe Food Bank of Somerset County, the Resource Center for Women and Their Families, the Giving Gardeners' Project, and Heifer International.
