History
The Star-Spangled Songbook came about after Dave DeLuca was selected to sing at the 5th Annual Sinatra Birthday Bash held at the historic Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey on December 9th, 2011. During rehearsals with other cast members, Dave realized that there was a growing amount of enthusiasm for music from the Great American Songbook, and began formulating an idea for a show in which the other cast members could participate based on their schedule and availability. The last piece of the puzzle was the addition of patriotic songs to the catalog of jazz standards, and The Star-Spangled Songbook was born! This is a brand new venture. The premiere show will take place on Sunday, May 27th, at the Fleet Reserve Naval Association in Lakehurst, New Jersey. The goal is to take the show on the road, to the casinos in the NJ/PA/CT area, and ultimately to the theatre district in New York City.
