Saint Andrew's was officially incorporated as a parish Feb. 4, 1889, but documents show that mass was first celebrated in 1879. The church's mission is to build a strong community through serving others. Church members are involved in staffing a family homeless shelter once a year, they provide meals for Harrison House which caters to AIDS patients and they're involved in preparing meals for soup kitchens. The church has its own food pantry and members collect and distribute food weekly to area residents in need. There is also clothing collection and holiday gift giving drives. The church also hosts English as a Second Language classes Wednesdays, September to May, from 7 to 8:30pm.
