A campus of the Passaic County Community College, the Public Safety Academy offers training for firefighters and emergency medical personnel. The college offers degree and certificate programs in fire science technology and emergency management. The campus includes classrooms, labs, an auditorium, computer rooms an indoor fire-training center, as well as a burn simulator building. The academy trains volunteer firefighters and EMT squads, and also offers classes for fire inspectors, in the Uniform Construction Code and for those seeking a commercial driver's license. Some liberal arts and humanities classes are also offered at the academy.
