With over 300 members, the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan is a part of the Presbyterian Church ( U.S.A. ) and partners in ministry with 47 other churches of the Presbytery of Monmouth. Our church has a deep history ( over 300 years ) in Matawan and is rooted in the earliest foundations of Scots Presbyterianism in America. We're among the largest churches in the Presbytery. We have trained clergy and highly skilled musicians and teachers. Consisting of members from 22 different nations of birth, our church celebrates both variety and its unity as together we minister in the name of Jesus Christ. Because of our visible location on Route 34, our church membership comes from a number of towns and townships in Monmouth and eastern Middlesex Counties. We are strongly community-oriented and active in ecumenical activities and local mission in this area. We welcome into partnership all who share our goals and our concern for the well-being of the children, youth, and adults of the communities we share.
