History
The Riverview Farmers Market grew out of a 2010 Farms in the City event attended by several Heights neighborhood residents. These dedicated residents worked tirelessly to form the non-profit Farms in the Heights to promote a mission of greening Jersey City and pursuing initiatives to improve our neighborhood, promote local business and food and increase the quality of life of Heights residents. The first project undertaken by Farms in the Heights was the Riverview Farmers Market. It has been in operation since 2010 and was recently granted status as 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2013. It continues to provide artisan crafts, great programming and local, fresh healthy food to Heights residents and others.
