Nestled in a residential section of Basking Ridge is Ridge Oak Senior Housing, an assisted living community administrated by an ecumenical collective of local churches in Basking Ridge. Six local churches got together and formed Ridge Oak in 1971. In 1977, the first tenant moved in, and the complex has been going strong ever since.
The well-maintained 26-acre complex offers qualifying senior citizens affordable housing in 12 villages that surround a central community building. Services offered include subsidized food, landscape maintenance, limited medical attention, home health care, lab services, haircuts and more. The housing community also offers organized recreational activities, such as bingo, shopping trips, bus tours and holiday parties.
