The origin of the family business started on August 22, 1923, as a bank in the Free City of Danzig ( Europe ) by Boris Sokolower, then 25 years old, and a member of the Danzig Stock Exchange, until the beginning of World War II. His son, Erich Sokolower, joined the investment firm of Oppenheimer & Co., Inc in 1961. In 1981, he founded Repex & Co., Inc, a stockbroker and investment firm in Closter, Bergen County, Northern New Jersey, that has evolved to this date. Repex Investment Management Co., Inc, an affiliate, is an asset manager and investment advisor. Erich Sokolower, 80, graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, 1948, and holds a M.S. in Engineering from Columbia University School of Engineering, 1971. He is Managing Director of Repex & Co., Inc David Sokolower, 41, graduated from New York University, Stern School of Business with a B.S. in Finance, 1989. He joined Repex in 1989. He has been President of the Firm since 1995. David is the son of Erich Sokolower. William Holzer, 61, graduated from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Engineering, 1970, and Pace University with an MBA in Accounting, 1973. Mr. Holzer is the Compliance Officer and an Equity and Options Principal of the Firm. He joined Repex in 1985.
