Portwide Cargo Securing Company, a subsidiary of A.G. Ship Maintenance Corporation, was founded in 1967 as a joint venture between A.G. Ship Maintenance Corporation and Lee and Palmer. The formation of Portwide coincided with the advent of containerized cargo, also known as the container revolution, which enabled Portwide to be poised for the expansion of the intermodal industry. Through the years, Portwide has adapted and evolved to meet the needs of its maritime industry clients. The services that Portwide provides are container/break-bulk cargo securing, marine carpentry, Ro-Ro vessel cargo securing, power equipment maintenance, container and chassis repair, generator repair, refrigerated container repair and transit inspection reporting, among others.
