HistoryAs a very progressive hairstylist and salon owner I took one of the first courses offered commercially in permanent cosmetics in 1988. I loved improving women's looks and making them feel beautiful. After a while the NJ Board of Beauty Culture ruled they did not want to be responsible for permanent cosmetic procedures in hair salons because they require breaking skin. We were not really allowed to work until the board of health took over all tattoo techniques and were vilified and allowed to open studios where we could work . Our offices are now required to uphold standards for health and safety. We must pass testing certifying us to perform our craft. In Jan 2009 I opened Envision Permanent Makeup. I am Certified by the American Academy of Micropigmentation, (required in NJ), inspected by the Board of Health and pass blood bourn pathagen tests.
