The Ocean County Utilities Authority's central plant located off Hickory Lane in the Bayville section of the township collects and treats wastewater from most Ocean County municipalities and five towns from the Manasquan River Regional Sewerage Authority. The OCUA has two other treatment plants - one in Brick Township and one in the Cedar Run section of Stafford Township. The authority accepts and treats a total combined capacity of 80 million gallons per day, including domestic septage. The authority's collection system includes 40 pumping stations, 200 miles of force main lines and three ocean outfall lines.
