Mount Bethel Baptist Church was founded in Warren in 1767 by the Rev. Henry Crosley, who moved a congregation of 18 area residents attending services in Scotch Plains to a church on what is now known as Old Church Road (off Helen Street).
The current Mount Bethel Baptist Church was built in the late 1950s, with the first services held in 1960.
The church sponsored Warren's first Boy Scout troop.
Sunday church services begin with prayer and coffee at 8:30am, a Bible exploration hour beginning at 9am, followed by worship service at 10am.
