The Mallinckrodt Convent for the Sisters of Christian Charity was established in 1927 and is the home of the Sisters of Christian Charity of the North American Eastern Province. The convent grounds include two retreat centers, The Villa Pauline and The Quellen Spiritual Life Center. Both retreat centers are open to people of every belief, race and creed, providing a place of silence and solitude for prayer and reflection. The retreat centers are the dream of Pauline von Mallinckrodt who founded the Sisters of Christian Charity and was the first to provide retreat centers for women in 1874.
