The Hopatcong Borough Recreation Department is a seven-member commission, headed by Recreation Coordinator Sue Parichuk and assisted by Mayor Sylvia Petillo. Each member serves a five-year term. The department has several subcommittees, including the Summer Recreation Committee, Fields Committee and Finance Committee. It is located in the Civic Center and meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 8pm in the Municipal Building.
