Hillsborough Municipal Complex is a Hillsborough based institution that processes local requests, manages emergency services including fire safety, implements government campaigns and relays information regarding the parks department, including public land closures and safety hazards.
Hillsborough's Township Offices, including courts, the town clerk, tax collector and building department, are housed in the town municipal complex. Most offices have regular hours, though the building department and town clerk have extended hours during certain days. The building also houses the township's fire safety department, senior center and police department.
Hillsborough does not elect a mayor, and instead has a five-member township committee that selects one person to serve as mayor each year. Members of the township committee serve three-year terms and are elected during November elections.
