The Hamburg Board of Education is governed by a nine-member board and is a policymaking body that drafts and evaluates policies for operations of the Hamburg School District. It also conducts executive sessions to discuss personal and potentially sensitive issues. The school superintendent serves as a nonvoting member of the board and acts as a professional resource who assists in recruitment, selection of textbooks, curriculum development and fiscal affairs. The school district serves students in prekindergarten through grade eight. It offers a variety of athletic activities, such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, track and field and hockey. The Hamburg Board of Education is located in Hamburg, N.J.
