The Diocese of Camden is a particular church of the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church located in Camden, N.J. It presides over Roman Catholic parishes and schools in the six southern New Jersey counties of Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem. It was established in 1937 by Pope Pius XI by breaking it off from the Diocese of Trenton. The Diocese of Camden presides over 125 parishes. More than 450,000 Catholics live within this diocese. The Bishop of Camden presides from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Camden. The Diocese of Camden operates various schools and cemeteries, and offers health and social services through several ministries.
