Stone & Tile Emporium opened its showroom and design studio in Wyckoff, New Jersey in early 2006, the culmination of over 24 years of experience in the stone and tile industry for owner Antonella (Ann) Romano. Ann got her start as a teenager in her family's stone and tile business; today, she helms a busy company with an enormous sample inventory representing every conceivable type of tile, and every cut and polish of stone from around the world. Ann, an interior designer, brings her wealth of experience, her keen design sense, and her exceptional customer service to every project at Stone & Tile Emporium She and her design staff transform dreams into reality, and have turned kitchens and bathrooms, hallways and fireplaces, into works of art in all manner of stone and tile, in glass, ceramic, clay and beyond. The exceptional personal service offered at Stone & Tile Emporium is something customers won't find elsewhere. For instance, all clients get full mechanical renderings of their projects. That way, they can they see what their bath or kitchen will look like when the job is done, the materials are designed to fit their specific space, and the installers know exactly how to execute the designs. There is no additional fee for these drawings. What's more, Ann will make site visits, if needed, during installation to ensure the project is proceeding as planned. Ann's focus on delivering exceptional personal service and artistic expression in stone has garnered her rave reviews from such clients as WOR radio personality and consumer advocate, Joan Hamburg, who hired Stone & Tile Emporium to update her Southampton cottage; and Channel 11 news anchor Marvin Scott, who sought out Ann specifically for his kitchen and bathroom remodeling jobs, after seeing some of her work elsewhere. In 2008, Ann applied her artistic vision to The Brick House restaurant, a historic Bergen County landmark that underwent a multi-million-dollar expansion and renovation. Stone & Tile Emporium supplied all the stone and tile throughout the entire restaurant and Ann designed new bathrooms and a unique entertainment space and wine cellar. In the main bathrooms, she chose honed limestone and polished marble for the walls and created a custom basket weave design in stone on the floors. The dramatic Slate Room features an elaborate pattern of variegated slate tiles on the floors; the vaulted ceilings and walls are done in brick to match the adjoining wine cellar. The overall effect is striking. Stone & Tile Emporium donated all the stone and tile in 2008 for the new home of Oasis - A Haven for Women & Children in Paterson, reflecting Ann's generosity and desire to give back to the community.
