Founded in 1990, COVANTA Essex Company is one of the leading waste-to-energy facilities in New Jersey that serves the refuse disposal needs of more than 20 municipalities in Essex County, N.J. Its facilities convert over 16 million tons of waste into nearly 8 million megawatt hours of clean renewable electricity and create more than 10 billion pounds of steam that are sold to a variety of industries.
