History
A Methodist Society was formed in 1845 by Rev. C. S. Downs of Fresh Ponds, meeting in the home of William D. Serviss on Obert Street. The class grew rapidly and was added to the Middlesex Mission of the New Jersey Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1846. When the Methodist Episcopal Church merged with the United Brethren Church in 1968, Conklin became known as Conklin United Methodist Church.
