The Christian Evangelical Church in Livingston (CEC) has a diverse congregation with ties to Chinese culture. Members include ethnic Chinese from the Philippines, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia; American-born Chinese; Filipinos; and people of European descent. Services are conducted in English and Mandarin. The church is led by Pastor Stephen Lim and his wife, Assistant Pastor Rev. Eunice Lim.
The CEC also offers Sunday School for youth and children, youth and junior high groups, Chinese Bible study and couples fellowship.
The CEC in Livingston was the first church of its denomination in New Jersey. It was founded in 1974 in West Orange and moved to its present location in 2006. It is a member of Evangelical Mission and Seminary International (EMSI), a Christian organization founded in 1968 by Rev. Moses Yang.
