Founded in 1978, Anchor House serves runaway, homeless, abused and at-risk youths and their families. The organization provides food, emergency housing and clothing services. Its emergency respite program, Angel s Wings, offers in-home counseling and crisis intervention services. Anchor House also provides the Anchor House Shelter program, which offers advocacy, outreach, and individual and family counseling services. The organization provides residential services, as well as medical care, financial assistance and behavioral health options through the Anchorage Transitional Living program. In addition, it offers opportunities to participate in job assistance and educational activities. Anchor House operates an outreach program that provides transportation services.
