History
I created my own wedding dress to echo a similar silhouette of my mother's gown from the mid-1950's. My mother designed and created her own dress, long since remade into a cocktail dress after her wedding day. I spent countless hours searching for the perfect and affordable, 'non-traditional' gown for my wedding day, before realizing that only I could create what I was searching for. My college years, as a Fine Arts student at the University of Wisconsin, were spent scouring vintage clothing stores and costume closets to create my personal wardrobe; while sewing and learning design technique in the Theatre Dept. Costume Shop. Today, I combine those vintage elements and silhouettes with a classic approach to my acquired 'look'. I bring this love of vintage, and the classic feminine silhouette to my dresses. I hold an MFA in Theatrical Costume Design from the University of Connecticut.
