Operational for more than 60 years, the Milford Fire Department is a full-service public safety agency that works to provide fire suppression and prevention, rescue and emergency medical services. It operates an office of emergency management that plans and responds to major emergency situations, such as severe weather, pandemics, fire, and chemical, biological, nuclear and explosive events. The department also has a training division that conducts educational classes in vehicle extrication, confined space rescue, hazardous materials decontamination, and hose line, ladder, and search and rescue evolutions. The Milford Fire Department is comprised of more than 50 full-time and paid-on-call personnel. It houses a fleet of rescue vans, ladders and engines. The department is located in Milford, N.H.
