The Exeter Police Department is a full-service and community-oriented law enforcement agency that works to maintain law and order and protect residents lives and their property. It is comprised of more than 20 full-time sworn officers. The department offers assistance to victims in cases related to child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence, as well as informs victims regarding their rights. The Exeter Police Department also provides identity theft and Internet safety tips. In addition, it conducts background checks and issues concealed weapon permits. The department conducts the Explorer program, which provides law enforcement training to students between the ages of 14 and 21. The Exeter Police Department supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program, which helps children avoid involvement with drugs, gangs and violence. It is located in Exeter, N.H.
