Dover Adult Learning Center of Strafford County is a private nonprofit educational institution. It is an adult literacy agency for Strafford County and the community education provider for Dover that serves more than 2,500 adults annually. It offers adult basic education classes in Dover, Rochester and Somersworth and at the Strafford County House of Corrections. It offers life-coping skills, basic education and job training programs, and high school completion and enrichment classes. It provides life skills classes for clients of the Behavioral Health and Development Services of Strafford County and offers a vocational skills class for teens who have dropped out of school. It offers classes in astronomy, computers, cooking, drawing, crafts, digital photography, reiki and whittling. Additionally, it provides a vocational class for people on public assistance. Dover Adult Learning Center of Strafford County was founded in 1968.
