Canterbury Shaker Village is a nonprofit museum and historic site of the Shakers, a Protestant religious denomination officially, known as the United Society of Believers in Christ's Second Appearing. It comprises more than 20 original buildings, three reconstructed buildings and 694 acres of forests, fields, gardens and ponds. It was founded in 1969 to preserve the heritage of the Shakers. The site is designated as a national historic landmark for its architectural significance. It provides a wide range of programs for learning about its life, ideals and values through tours, programs, exhibits, research and publications. The museum is located in Canterbury, N.H.
