Bally Technologies, formerly Alliance Gaming, was incorporated in September 1968 as Advanced Patent Technologies. The company is a diversified, worldwide gaming company that designs, manufactures, operates and distributes slot and video machines to a global gaming industry that includes casino, racino, video lottery, central determination and Class II markets. In March 2006, the company officially changed its name from Alliance Gaming Corporation to Bally Technologies. Bally also designs, integrates and sells highly specialized computerized monitoring systems that provide casinos with networked accounting and security services for their gaming machines with more than 300,000 game monitoring units installed worldwide at more than 225 locations. Based in Las Vegas, the Bally Technologies also owns and operates Rainbow Casino, a 35,000-square foot dockside location in Vicksburg, Miss., which has approximately 12 table games and 900 gaming devices. Through its acquisitions of Casino Marketplace, ACSC, CMS, Honeyframe, MCC and MindPlay, the company has grown into one of the top gaming systems companies in the world. Bally also bolstered its presence in the burgeoning United Kingdom market with the acquisition of Crown Gaming, which previously served as the company's machine distributor in the UK.
