Founded in 1943, Reno Housing Authority owns and operates more than 700 housing units in over eight of the complexes located in the cities of Reno and Sparks in Nevada. The authority is a municipal corporation, formed under the United States Housing Act of 1937. Reno Housing Authority provides publicly assisted housing, including traditional public housing and scattered sites. It provides affordable housing for low-income persons. Located in Reno, Nev., the authority provides its residents a variety of services that promote and develop job and life skills. Reno Housing Authority is also appointed as the Public Housing Authority for the City of Sparks and the County of Washoe.
