HistoryThe International Academy of English (IAE) was founded in 1999 by Carmen Tepper who believed that there was a huge need for an affordable Intensive English program in San Diego, her hometown in the US. In looking at the local schools, she believed that their pricing was much too high for international students of average means. Carmen decided to open a school and set the pricing very low to allow more students from around the world the ability to study English in Southern California...and soon expanded to Las Vegas. IAE has grown in size and has a partnership with Southern States University (SSU) which has several campuses in the San Diego area. SSU has the identical Intensive English Program to IAE and offers BBA and MBA degree programs.SpecialtiesThe International Academy of English (IAE) is a SEVIS I-20 approved institution that offers English language programs of the highest quality in both California and Nevada. Our courses are taught by native speakers of English and accommodate students ranging in language levels from low beginning up to high advanced. Students study English in one of our two programs: Intensive I (18 hours of English language instruction per week) and Intensive II (30 hours of English language instruction per week). Here in Nevada, Las Vegas IAE has two campuses: the East Sunset and West Sahara locations. Both are conveniently located within minutes of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip and offer unique dormitory-style student housing within walking distance of both campuses.
