Paulsen opened for business in Cozad, Neb., as Paulsen Building and Supply. The company moved from Blair, Neb., to Cozad in 1946. Paulsen started out as a homebuilder and a hollow block supplier. In 1990, Paulsen Building and Supply changed its name to Paulsen Inc. The company provides asphalt and concrete paving, building construction, redi-mix and aggregate supplies throughout Nebraska and northern Kansas. The company is comprised of several divisions, such as administration, asphalt, aggregate, building, equipment, paving, safety and warehousing. In addition to Paulsen s headquarters in Cozad, the company has locations in the Nebraska communities of Ogallala, Arnold, Broken Bow, Gothenburg, North Platte, Lexington, Elm Creek, Holdrege, McCook, Indianola and Arapahoe.
