The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for administering and maintaining all parks in the city of Lincoln, Neb. It manages a variety of facilities, including an observatory, indoor rifle range, wildlife center, cemetery, day camp, golf courses, sports areas and recreational trails. The department also coordinates various recreational activities and child care and before-and after-school programs. Its parks division maintains several outdoor swimming pools, recreation centers, dog parks, more than 127,800 city trees, over 115 parks, gardens in Lincoln. Additionally, the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department conducts a variety of physical, recreational and social activities, such as swimming, diving, craft making, sports programs, and cooking, fitness, open shooting and martial art classes.
