The Lothrop Magnet Center serves approximately 400 students in prekindergarten through fourth grade. The school offers classes in science, Spanish and technology. It promotes literacy and mathematical competency and skills. The Lothrop Magnet Center organizes workshops on nutrition and parenting and computer skills. The school s Reading First program emphasizes phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.
