George Risk Industries manufactures security products and data entry peripherals, as well as pushbutton, proximity and burglar alarm switches. GRI has served the original equipment manufacturer marketplace for more than 30 years in standard and custom-designed keyboards and keypads. Its proximity sensors are encapsulated reed switches activated by a magnetic field and are designed for interlocks. GRI also molds its own line of keycaps with standard or custom engraving. George Risk, a native of Cedar Rapids Iowa, founded the company in 1968 and began George Risk Industries in Kimball, Neb. GRI employs nearly 300 and has a satellite plant in Gering, Neb.
