Dr Ichtertz started practicing orthopaedics in 1987 upon completing his residency and following it with an Upper Extremity Fellowship in Upper Extremity surgery including microvascular surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. He set-up Nebraska Hand & Shoulder Institute, P.C. in 1998 and the Carpal Tunnel Relief Center division in 1999. Dr. Ichtertz has been a leader in the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of carpal, cubital and tarsal tunnel syndromes. He is the first orthopaedist in Nebraska to perform on site formal nerve conduction studies and the only medical professional in Nebraska to offer Pressure Specified Sensory Device (PSSD) testing. Dr. Ichtertz is also the first to offer Percutaneus Tennis Elbow Relief, the first and only to provide Percutaneus Trigger Finger Release, and Percutaneus Wrist Denervation. Nebraska Hand & Shoulder Institute, P.C. established the first medical clinic in America dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in Lincoln in 1999. Dr. Ichtertz also specializes in other conditions afflicting the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and Knee. The greatest emphasis is on nerve entrapment and preventing disability and helping people to solve their musculoskeletal problems allowing them to feel youthful and be productive.
