Founded in 1991, Montana Conservation Corps is a private, nonprofit organization that provides services for community-based projects and offers training for volunteers. It provides technical, work skills and leadership training. The organization offers services for projects related to fencing, revegetation, habitat enhancement, historical building restoration, and trail building and maintenance. Montana Conservation Corps conducts workshops for first aid, conflict resolution, and educational and communication skills development. Additionally, it provides safety equipment and group camping gears, as well as transportation services. The organization works in association with more than 150 project sponsor agencies, including National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, BLM and Fish and Wildlife Service. Montana Conservation Corps also offers summer volunteer service for youths between the ages of 14 and 16. It maintains an office in Kalispell, Mont.
