The Yellowstone River Parks Association was gifted Joel's Pond in 2015 by the Joel Long Family, a property consisting of 17.697 acres, with 12 acres dedicated to the pond. With a self-sustaining bass population, the association aims to develop a relationship with the privately owned areas surrounding the pond to provide more opportunities for the Billings community.
The association is currently seeking volunteers and financial resources to develop trails, landscaping, and structures, and has received major support from Joel Long, The Don and Betsy Forbes Foundation, Scheels Sports, Knife River, Faith Chapel, Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks, and other partner organizations.
