What was once a slaughter house for Annie Gunns Restaurant is now a premier location for fundraising dinners, weddings and other small gatherings. It is also connected to the home and studio of a very modest, yet talented artist.
Don Wiegand specializes in sculpture. Step into his rustic studio and you will be greeted with sculptures and molds of the famous, not-so-famous and sometimes just sweet little girls. They range in size from desktop to lifesize to larger than life.
His work can be viewed in many prominent St. Louis locations such as the Anheuser-Busch Visitor's Center, Busch Memorial Center, St. Louis University, Cathedral Basilica, Jefferson Memorial Museum, Missouri Historical Society, Missouri Botanical Garden and many others. You can also view his artwork around the United States and throughout Europe. He has sculptures in the White House in Washington DC as well as the The Vatican in Italy.
Mr. Wiegand recently introduced the Wiegand Foundation, Inc. which promotes service, volunteerism, patriotism and artistic activities.
