The Western Missouri Correctional Center is a medium-security facility that confines more than 1,900 male imamates. The center is spread over an area of nearly 380 acres. The Western Missouri Correctional Center is a part of the Missouri Department of Corrections, which provides mental health care, educational and workforce development services. It operates the Division of Adult Institutions, which is responsible for the supervision and management of approximately 15 correctional centers in Missouri. The Missouri Department of Corrections offers library services to provide access to books, magazines, newspapers, encyclopedias, dictionaries and almanacs. The department also offers spiritual, employee development, and fiscal and resource management solutions.
