History
Much of the land that is the Sanctuary was once a farm run by Park College. The original forty-six acres were gifted to the City of Parkville, and an additional sixty-nine acres are leased from the MO Department of Conservation.
Specialties
The Parkville Nature Sanctuary is open from sunrise to sunset, and maintains three miles of hiking trails to access 115 acres of forest, wetlands, and a reconstructed prairie. No dogs are allowed as they disturb the animals the sanctuary was established to protect.
