Oak Park High School, founded in 1965, has an enrollment of more than 1,800 students in grades nine through 12. The school s curriculum includes English, arts, science, mathematics, health and physical education, foreign languages, social studies and computers. It also provides additional courses in industrial technology, family and consumer sciences, marketing, business and special education. The extracurricular activities offered by the school include drawing and painting, digital imaging and photography, and visual and performing arts. It also undertakes crisis intervention and drug prevention programs, and organizes seminars and workshops on substance and drug abuse. The school has a parent-teacher student association that supports school activities, organizes cultural events and assists in curriculum development. Oak Park High School is affiliated with the North Kansas City School District.
