In the beginning, it was Miller Paint and Glass, and sold much more paint than glass. Thanks to Bill's leadership and business acumen, the company was quick to grow, and able to adapt to meet changing community needs. Over fifty years later, Miller Glass is still located in the original building, though it has been renovated. Miller Glass has been in the auto glass business from the start. In the early days, auto glass was flat laminated glass, and was cut in shop to match specific patterns. Though present day auto glass is most often curved and must be ordered in from a supplier, we keep the patterns on hand for use in classic car restoration projects. In 1978, Bill hired Mark Loudermilk with the intention of training him to take over the glass business. In 1986, Mark bought Miller Glass. A few years later, Mark hired Sherman Widener with the same intentions, and in 1999, Mark sold the business to Sherman and Michelle Widener, the current owners. Through it all, Bill and Nadine Miller continue to offer wisdom and encouragement. Despite all the changes, in the business and in the world, Miller Glass remains true to its founding ideals of honesty and integrity, and has earned the respect of the community. Miller Glass continues to expand its product lines and service areas. We plan to be going strong for another fifty years and longer.
