History
I actually started tinting in the mid 70's in a garage to do auto tinting. The earliest form of tinting consisted of a vaporized metal attached to the polyester without any adhesive or hard coating applied to it. The choice of tint color was easy as long as it was Silver. Tools didn't exist and had to be made by hand and the adhesive was added to water and sprayed on the glass. Needless to say this resulted in a large mess to clean up. As the industry progressed more colors were made available to obtain a better look such as gray's and bronze to the silver substrate. I spent the next decade educating the public in general about tinting and the many benefits of stopping a great deal of heat, glare,UV radiation and ability to hold glass fragments together in case of accidental breakage.
