Metropolitan Community College, located in Kansas City, Mo., offers more than 50 occupational programs. Established in 1964, it is governed by a six-member elected board of trustees. The college offers associate and certificate programs in art, business, computers, geography, health, human and social sciences, and industrial and technical education. It provides classes in subjects, such as audio engineering technology, grounds and turf management, industrial technologies, railroad operations, medical transcription, biotechnology, radiologic technologist, interior design, fashion merchandising and land surveying. Its library is linked with the Missouri Bibliographic Information User System and provides access to more than 17 million items. Metropolitan Community College also provides various business solutions that include ISO registration, process analysis and documentation, performance consulting and program in leadership development.
