The Kansas City Anti-Violence Project (KCAVP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing advocacy and education on domestic violence, sexual assault, and hate violence to the LGBTQ community in Kansas City, Missouri. As the only LGBTQ-specific service of its kind in the state, KCAVP aims to bridge the gap in support and services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals who have experienced trauma, violence, harassment, or neglect.
Under the leadership of Executive Director Sarah Cirese-Payton, a clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience, KCAVP strives to create a safe and empowered community where LGBTQ people can live free from violence. With a strong focus on grant writing, program development, and team management, Cirese-Payton is committed to supporting LGBTQ victims of violence and working towards a more equitable and socially engaged world.
