Missouri State Highway Patrol, also known as MSHP, works for the safety and security of the general public. The organization operates through training, traffic, commercial vehicle enforcement and human resources divisions. It offers law enforcement services and conducts motor vehicle and criminal inspections. The organization is a full-service institution that has been in operation since 1931. It is responsible for the maintenance of more than 32,000 miles of highways in the state. Missouri State Highway Patrol also conducts driver's license examinations and criminal laboratory analysis and research. The organization operates various public education and law enforcement training programs. Missouri State Highway Patrol has also published a book entitled Roll Call.
