High Aspirations, Inc is a faith-based program in Kansas City, Missouri that aims to raise the aspirations of young African American males aged 8 to 18. Through mentoring and various key components such as chess strategy, leadership finance, college readiness, and community service, the program supports these young men in improving their lives socially, academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Founded in 2003 by Henry W. Wash, who himself overcame similar circumstances with the help of mentors, High Aspirations has successfully graduated over 100 young men from its program. With a focus on building a stronger community by changing the direction of young men from the Kansas City urban core, the organization is dedicated to guiding these individuals towards becoming productive society members, loving husbands, and dutiful fathers.
